Winter Olympics 2010 Schedule

The 2010 Winter Olympics which is also the official XXI Olympic winter games will be held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada from Feb 12-28, 2010. This year it’s coming up with motto “with glowing hearts/des plus brilliants exploits’.

Opening ceremony for the spectacular event will be held at the BC Place Stadium in Vancouver on February 12, 2010.

The budget for this event is $1.76 billion, which wholly rose from non-government sources, sponsorship and through auction of national broadcasting rights.

Out of the total budget $200 million alone is going to be spent on security of the event.

The 2010 Winter Olympics logo was released on April 23, 2005 and named as Ilanaaq the Inunnguaq. The mascots for this event are announced on November 27, 2010. These mascots are Miga-A sea bear, Quatchi-a Sasquatch and Sumi-an animal guardian spirit. This even will broadcasted worldwide by many number of television broadcasters.

Over 5500 people from over 80 nations will participate in the Winter Olympics 2010. There will be total 86 events in 7 sports.
